Diary
AHHH. Sigh.
English is too hard!!!!
I mean, not just English, but English for test.
Not just any test, TOEFL.
I took TOEFL last Sunday and am waiting for the score comes up.
It’s so torturous though.
‘Cause I remember things so well that I messed up.
If my score is lower than 95 out of 120, I have to retake in a month.
(It seems almost impossible to me to get 95 unfortunately)
Well, I don’t mind studying English, but it’s just, you know, different.
Especially the speaking section. that is so horror to me.
When I talk to a foreigner, I don’t usually get nervous. But, when I have to say something for TOEFL speaking, I just FREEZE!!
Don’t know why. Just cannot think of anything.
What is so wrong with me?! AHHHH
I thought I did OK besides speaking when I just finished TOEFL.
Yet, in this morning, all of a sudden, I realized that I made a huge mistake in the writing section, too!! At the integrated writing section, I must read a reading passage on an academic topic, and listen to a lecture about the same topic. And I write an essay mainly about lecture, in contrast with the reading passage. Ah, why didn’t I think about it?;;
You know what? I only wrote about the lecture!! Somehow I thought everyone read the passage and knew what the passage says. Well…… I can still retake though.
OH, NOTHING IS EASY.
Well, English is not so hard. One just has to keep in mind that a preposition isn't a good thing to end a sentence with ![]()
Also, check some other interesting rules of great importance for proper English, but in fact are made to be broken: http://www.bouldertherapist.com/html/humor/WordPlays/tips_for_proper_english.htm
But, why bothering with traditional English? It's going to be replaced by new EU English with improved spelling anyway: http://www.ahajokes.com/eng011.html ![]()
